“What you were doing this time last year”
This time last year, I was in the process of packing up my life in Toronto. I was selling furniture, filling boxes meticulously with our possessions, debating over what to keep versus what to give away or throw away.
I was planning final visits, lunches, dinners, drinks with all the people that made Toronto my home for a while.
I was preparing to say ‘until next time’ to the city and people that gave me a place to lay my hat.
A year ago, we had an apartment we had chosen for Vancouver, and I was designing its interior in my mind.
It’s been almost a year since I moved to the most beautiful city in the country and—considering where that’s led me—I can still happily say that there are no regrets.
